Turn off the sports channel. Come watch some of the best golf live! 156 of the world’s most talented, rising-star women professional golfers will compete June 21-23 in the Island Resort Championship at Sweetgrass Golf Club in Harris. The stakes are high. The action gripping. The hospitality unparalleled.

The Island Resort Championship is now the official United States qualifier for The Evian Championship, an LPGA major tournament slated for July 25-26 in Évian-les-Bains, France. A chance to earn one of the two Evian spots is expected to draw players from 35 countries to Sweetgrass. The $200,000 purse (the biggest in Island Resort’s history) will sweeten the win, too.

This event is the 12th in the 2019 Volvik Race for the Card on the “Road to the LPGA.” It is also the second of four tournament events in the sixth annual Potawatomi Cup. For you, it’s an opportunity to see in-person some of the most exciting golfers before they become world famous!

“We are truly honored to host this qualifying tournament and make it one of the best stops on the Symetra Tour,” said Tony Mancilla, general manager for the Island Resort and Casino. “It’s our chance to showcase Sweetgrass, one of Golfweek’s Best Courses as well as one of GOLF Magazine’s and Golf Digest’s Best in Michigan golf destinations. But it’s also an opportunity to encourage golf tourists to play some of the U.P.’s best public courses as well as visit fascinating historical places, landmarks and beautiful waters that are just a short drive away.”
